The beautiful hill town of Spoleto was the home base for the 2021 Umbria workshop. While we photographed, we learned more about this region, often referred to as Italy’s Green Heart. We traversed rugged Umbrian landscapes and stopped to photograph the tiny villages that time seems to have forgotten. Contrasting those quiet places were our visits to more bustling Assisi and Orvieto, with their stunning architecture and repositories of art by Giotto, Cimabue and Signorelli. Each workshop student produced a slideshow story of their response to this beautiful region of central Italy. Click the links below to view them.
